Certified translations

In Poland an officially sworn translator is licensed to:

  1. Prepare and certify translations from a foreign language into the Polish language and vice versa
  2. Verify and certify such translations prepared by other persons
  3. Prepare certified copies of documents in a foreign language
  4. Interpret

Certified translations:

A certified translation is the translation of a document authenticated by a sworn translator. It is typically required for official use when it needs to be presented at court or to the Polish institutions. Examples of documents which may require certification include:

  • documents relating to civil, commercial and criminal matters (e.g. petitions, complaints, summonses, rulings, divorce certificates and decrees, last will and testaments, adoption applications etc.),
  • school and academic certificates and licenses,
  • birth, death and marriage certificates,
  • ID / status documents,
  • powers of attorney,
  • certificates (bank certificates, criminal record check), declarations of will,
  • company registration documents,
  • commercial contracts.
